Three cheers to my finished main page...

[Listening to: Jason Truby - Immersed from the album "String Theory"]

After days and days of toiling with the friggin CSS script, the main page for my site is done. Not too terrible for a first time job. The only thing is that since the page is using a CSS script, Internet Explorer, being the $2 whore that it is, won't display it properly. 100% CSS support my ass. Mozilla Firefox displays it just fine. I may just build an IE-friendly main page using cells. They're pretty cool, but not CSS cool. At any rate, I have the space to get it done, and it'll be done eventually.

I tried to start a photo gallery, but it's not letting me upload any pictures. What good is an empty photo gallery?! Hopefully I can get that resolved soon.

The women in my family are awesome. I spent time with both of my grandmothers yesterday annd today. It was just a lot of fun being around them and talking to them. My grandmother on my dad's side and I hung out and watched the Do it Yourself network and ate. MY grandmother on my mom's side and I went to downtown Brooklyn and browsed around, and then ate. I hung out with my mother tonight. We sat around and talked, I played a few songs for her on my guitar, overall, fun was had. This may not sound like much, but that moment meant a lot to me because I've never really opened up to my mother or felt comfortable enough to play a song for her. It felt really good to just hang out and converse like that.

Well enough of that, bedtime now. G'nite, and screw Internet Explorer.

I just saw a commercial for a product called "Bling It On", it's basically plastic jewels with sticky bottoms so they can stick on anything. What made that commercial absolutely fucking terrible was the fact that the actors comprised of prissy ass white girls using the word "bling". What made it even worse was the part with the middle aged mom "blinging out".... are you ready for this.... her LAPTOP!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!

(Takes deep breath) I'm done. My brain hurts. Fuck this world.

Ph34r teh learning ability!

I'm catching on to CSS, and quite frankly, I freakin' love it!!! I have recently been enlightened about the power of style sheets and PHP. Now I must learn more and more to quench my insatiable thirst for programming. I'm such a friggin' nerd it's not funny anymore. Anyway, I'll keep tinkering and eventually I'll have a main page set up for the site. Hooray for my ability to catch on!

Sitting @ home...Yay?

[Listening to: The Miles Davis Quintet - I Could Write A Book from the album "Relaxin' With The Miles Davis Quintet"]

Well I'm home. The bus ride down was pretty smooth. And now I'm here. Bored. Out of my mind. All of my friends from home are back in school. All my friends from Hartford are at home. I don't know what to do with myself. Oh well, I'm gonna go to bed now before the boredom and lonliness sets in.

Wrap it up son! Yo, you better wrap that shit up b!

[Listening to: A Tribe Called Quest - Bonita Applebum from the album "Peoples Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm"]

Ah, the last hurrah. How satisfying it was. Ron, Christian, Dave, Doug, Christina and Lauren and I (CJ was out having fun in Manchester) started the night with dinner at the Commons, and then we watched The Incredibles. That movie, in a word, tits. (You thought I was going to say incredible, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?!) During the movie, my friend Raquel called and asked me for help on her Assembly language project. Two hours and many headaches later, we got it done. We hung out for a little while, and then I headed back to my room, where everyone was playing poker. I decided to join in the next game. I came in second place next to the Dave-Lauren powerhouse. I ruffled Dave's feathers for a while because I refused to die. Quote of the night: "If we were in the wild west, I would have shot you by now." 'Twas a good time. And now I must end this post. The next time I post, I'll be in the confines of my home. Until then, Peace and Cheerios.

Side Note...

[Listening to: Freddie Hubbard - Suite Sioux from the album "Red Clay [Bonus Track]"]

I finished my assembly language project yesterday. When did I start it? Yesterday. Putting those two facts together, it can be properly equated that I am the man! My poor friend Raquel has been working on her project for about three weeks and still hasn't finished it, meanwhile I get it done in 6 hours. Needless to say she's not very happy with me right about now. I'll give her some help as long as she wants it. Meanwhile, rock on to me!

Classes are done, makeup quiz is out of the way. That can only mean one thing...

MY SPRING BREAK HAS BEGUN!!!!

W3w7 L3wp$! Happy is I! A few of us are going to be having a last hurrah gettogether before we all disperse to our respective homes. Theres a 96% chance of fun and a 99.9999999999993471% chance of some (if not all) of us getting krunk. Fun will be had overall. Hopefully none of us will be too hungover to get home.

...$#!+...

[Listening to: Aleda - Fifty Dollars At A Time from the album "On The Lips Of Disaster"]

I decided to take a small nap to try and energize and look over my notes for math before the quiz. I set my phone alarm for 3:30. I left it face up when I went to sleep. When I woke up, it was face down, and it was 5:02. Mind you my class was at 4:15. $#!+!! I missed the quiz. But I did email my professor, and hopefully I can hammer out a deal with him about that quiz. Other than that, the rest of the day went well. Not having lab tonight brightened up my night. Gotta get my Assembly language project done, and then I'll watch some South Park tonight. W00t.

Well, I did it...

[Listening to: Gabriela Robin - Cycle from the album "Wolf's Rain OST 2"]

I got all the journal entries done, and I only had to sacrifice one night's worth of sleep. I feel alright for now. I managed to function quite well on my midterm for Civilization After 1500. I wrote two essays without going over the time limit. I hope I did alright. I have a math quiz later on today. I gotta browse my notes and brush up before I go to class. I have to do laundry as well. Hopefully everything will be right by tonight.

How to avoid doing work without really trying...

[Listening to: Seatbelts - Wo Qui Non Coin from the album "Cowboy Bebop OST 3 - Blue"]

I have 6 journal entries due this morning. Have I done them? Nope. Have I even started them? Nope. Am I going to even bother with them? Hell yeah! I'm doing good in this class, I'm not gonna mess that up. The hardest part is actually getting started. Once I can just start, it'll be done in no time, and I'll be off to bed. But until then, I'm going to sit here and fidget for a while.

In my non-work doing mode, I looked up the origins of my last name. I think it's pretty interesting:

Definition: 1) Son or descendant of Guillemin, a pet form of Guillaume, the French form of William. 2) From the Belgic "guild-helm," harnessed with a gilded helmet or "welhelm," the shield or defense of many. 3) Derived from the given name "William," an Old French given name with Germanic elements: wil = desire, will; and helm = helmet, protection.

The weekend in a nutshell...

[Listening to: The Contes - As Sane as Jane from the album "Bleed Together"]

I shoved off to New York Friday afternoon right after my classes. After I got off the bus in Manhattan, I decided to take a quick stop at my favorite pizza place "I Want That Pizza!", only to find out that it fucking closed down. I wasn't too pleased about that at all. Oh well. I decided to give my mother a visit at her job since it was only one stop away on the 3. It was great seeing her again since I hadn't seen her since January. I also got a chance to say hello to her co-workers. Some very cool people over there. Afterwards, we went home and celebrated my homecoming with some nice fattening chinese food. 'Twas very tasty. I got to see my dog and cat again. Poor cat, his hair had matted up so bad that when he got groomed he was shaved almost to a crew cut. He looks like an anorexic poodle!!

The next day my mother and I head to Radio City Music Hall to see Riverdance. We went with my cousin Angie and one of my mother's coworkers, Galois (pronounced gawa). I have such a crush on Galois it hurts. Anyway, Riverdance was just plain incredible. All of the dancers are incredibly talented, and the mix of cultural influences is that adds to the show. My favorite part of the show is the culture clash between the urban tap dancers and the celtic dancers. What gave the whole show it's sense of dynamic is the musicians. There was a nine piece band: drummer, percussionist, bassist, keyboardist, guitarist, violinist, accordionist, and two woodwind players. Is it just me, or do female violinists have an aura about them that just says "DO ME!!" I just find female violinists incredibly hot. Just a thought. Going back to the story, the band was simply incredible. They set the atmosphere for the whole show. I liked the various genres of music they crossed, from Celtic, to Russian, to Jazz, to Rock, Opera, Flamenco, and everything in between. I liked this show better than the first time I saw it. I think it's because I'm able to appreciate everything a little more this time around. It was a great show, and everyone enjoyed it, even Angie who isn't really a big fan of anything. Right after the show, my mother treated my to Applebee's before I headed back on the bus back to Hartford.

Ticket

I wanted to be back in Hartford in time to see my friends perform the Requiem, but I ended up not going because of lack of parking spaces. I'll never be able to experience it, not even in the slightest because they couldn't record the performance. Total crap but whatever. I heard it was really good. Next topic...

I've got a lot of crap to do between now and Friday. I have a midterm for Civilization after 1500, a math quiz, 6 journal entries for English 140 and a Lab to hand in, all on Wednesday. I hate Wednesdays. I also have to get my Assembly language project done. I have to start it first. Oh, well. I'll have it all done with no problems. 'Cause i'm the man. A very tired man. A man that needs to go to sleep. Time to wrap this up and hit the old dusty trail. G'nite.

A few words before I go to bed...

[Listening to: Steve Conte - Could You Bite the Hand? from the album "Wolf's Rain OST"]

I'll be heading home later today so I can see Riverdance on Broadway. I've seen it before maybe two or three years ago, and it's still fresh in my mind. I still have the Playbill program of the last time I was there! I'm really looking forward to it. I won't be in town long, right after Riverdance I'll be heading back to Hartford. I want to be in town and not travel weary for Sunday because the Hartt School is presenting Mozart's Requiem. I really would like to see that for two reasons. One, because I have some friends that will be singing and I want to support them, and two, it will take me back to when my high school chorus and I performed the Requiem. This will be a good weekend barring no major catastrophies. Until then, g'nite, and happy weekendness...

I think I'm gonna like this...

[Listening to: Ilaria Graziano - Valse de la Lune from the album "Wolf's Rain OST"]

I just might get used to this blog. It's so nice and cozy, and I set it up all by myself. Imagine how awesome it's going to be once I learn PHP and cascading style sheets!

Now that this blog is all set up and stuff, I can get cracking on the rest of my site. I may want to do some homework eventually, but I'll see how I feel.

So....

I've got a new blog. Blogtastic! Blogariffic! W00t L00ps. Well enough of that. I have a LiveJournal, but since I've bought this webspace and I have lots of space to dick around with, I figured I'd make a new blog. It's open source, so It's free and I can do whatever I like with it (as long as I know what I'm doing). I'll be tinkering around with this blog for months to come before I decide on a style I like, or I learn PHP and make the greatest skin ever!! Until then, I'll stick to this one. I'll babble on later, I've got a lab to do.

Until then...
Peace.
