P|-|34r my skills once more!!
[Listening to: Soulive - Ne-Ne from the album "Next"]
My friend Jessie asked me last week if I could put her hair in box braids. I told her I could do it since I've done it before. Today I gave proof to my word. She came by today and I worked on her hair. She has really nice straight hair which made parting it a breeze, but she has a lot of hair and relatively long so it took 6 DAG BLASTED HOURS to braid!! Along the way, Jessie's boyfriend Kin came by to oversee everything. Kin is cool, but he's extremely, EXTREMELY jealous. But there was nothing going on other than hair braiding. I am a man that respects boundaries. Kin should know that because he knows me as well. The highlight of the day was when Kin started helping with the braiding. He was having way to much fun with her hair! It was really funny. He caught on pretty quickly too. After six grueling hours, the deed was done. It came out really good too. Jessie was real pleased about it. Kin liked it a lot as well. I'm glad I could help you out Jessie.
The week sucked big hairy wookie nuts. I've been sick with a head cold the whole week. What made the week even better was that I had two presentations to make. One of which was for Intro to Literature about Langston Hughes. That one was a group presentation, and it turned out pretty well even though I had lost most of my voice at that point. The other was for Civilization after 1500. I had to write a book report on a scholarly book of our choosing. My book: The Social and Economic History of Germany from William II to Hitler. That book was sooooo hard to read and to write about. I managed to write three pages containing a few key points of the book. My professor understood the difficulty of the book and the fact that I wasn't feeling good that day (along with the cold, I got a rude awakening by my stomach. 'Nuff said), so she took it easy on me. I'm so glad I was able to get that over and done with. I did alright with that presentation. Immediately after that class I went to the library and returned that book. I hope I never have to see that book ever again.
This weekend was a blur. Nothing major to report other than going to the mall and buying Soulive's Turn It Out and Next CDs. Both of them are incredible. Turn It Out keeps it simple and gritty, and remains powerful throughout the whole album. Next gives a fresh spin on the already incredible Soulive sound. Needless to say I'll be annoying Ron and CJ with these albums for the next few weeks. That's about it for me.
